Wednesday Gaming – More Lay-Offs, Nintendo Leaks, Destiny 2 and MORE!
Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:
– Behaviour Interactive, the developers behind “Dead By Daylight”, has laid off 95 employees, most of them based in Montreal, Canada. This comes nearly six months after 40 employees were let go; Behaviour attributed this latest round of lay-offs as part of their plans to make “strategic changes for future growth.
– According to independent news company, 404 Media, a Google employee was able to access private videos on Nintendo’s YouTube channel and leak information ahead of any official game announcements. One such notable leak took place in 2017, whereby the employee shared screenshots from a privatised trailer for “Yoshi’s Crafted World” with a friend, who in turn uploaded the screenshots to Reddit ahead of the trailer’s official launch.
– Log-in issues, downed servers and missing cutscenes are among the numerous gameplay and technical issues that players are facing following the recent launch of the “Destiny 2” DLC, “The Final Shape”. Bungie are investigating these issues and are releasing fixes to address the problems as quickly as possible.
– Valve’s hit shooter game, “Team Fortress 2”, is currently facing a flood of negative reviews on Steam. As of writing, over 27 000 “Mostly Negative” reviews have been posted by players expressing their frustrations with the ongoing bot crisis in the game and calling on Valve to take action.
– If recent posts by Ed Boon are anything to go by, “Mortal Kombat 1” may receive character skins inspired by the 1995 “Mortal Kombat” movie in the near future. Similar skins were released for “Mortal Kombat 11” back in 2020.
